During our stay at Gecko Lodge, we were pleasantly surprised by the spacious and clean rooms. The breakfast provided was delicious and generous, offering a wide variety of options. The location of this hotel is truly stunning, situated on the banks of the Sabie river, on a huge farm. It provides a wonderful backdrop for a peaceful and relaxing stay. The staff were friendly and attentive, ensuring that all our needs were met during our visit. The rooms were well-appointed, with all the amenities we needed, including a nice South African touch in the decor. The breakfast offered a great variety of hot and cold options, and we enjoyed our meals with a great view of the surrounding nature.

During our Christmas stay, we enjoyed the homemade food at the lodge's restaurant, which was both tasty and filling. the staff were always approachable and friendly, which allowed us to feel comfortable and relaxed throughout our stay. Another positive of our experience was the easy accessibility to Kruger National Park- only a short distance away from the lodge.

Some aspects of our stay left much to be desired. the room we stayed in had a squeaky wooden floor, and the en-suite restroom created a noise during use.

Friendly staff, delicious breakfast, convenient location close to the river and Kruger NP. The hotel facilities were clean and well-maintained, and the staff was always helpful with parking and transportation. I enjoyed being able to explore other sights around this city before returning to the hotel to relax by the pool.

The hotel could have had better Wi-Fi connectivity, as it was a bit slow and made it difficult to get work done. the lack of a fridge in the room was a bit inconvenient and made it hard to store our drinks and snacks.

Nestled in the heart of nature, this backpacker lodge offers a chance to explore the wilderness back in the area. You can go down to the river or walk through the beautiful garden while the team gives you a warm welcome. the rooms are spacious and well-laid out, with plenty of hot water in the bathroom. the breakfast is a fulfilling meal with hot and cold options. the coffee is very good, and the food is really delicious.
